How Split Testing Google Text Ads Significantly Increases Sales & Lowers Costs.

One of the easiest yet most profitable enhancements you can
make to your Google Adwords advertising is to simply create
variations of your existing text adverts.

Google give you the ability to create more than a single
text advert for each adgroup, and it will then automatically
display them in rotation each time a prospect searches on
one of your keywords. It's called split testing, and it's
extremely powerful.

How it works: If you have two text adverts, 'A' and 'B'
for the term 'blue widget', the first person to look for
said phrase will see advert A. The second person searching
for the same keyword (or any keyword in the same adgroup)
will see advert B. The third person advert A. And so on.

If you're new to the concept of split-testing, the full
effect of this may not be evident to you. I'm not
exaggerating when I say split testing is one of Google
Adwords most powerful facilities.

You get to find out exactly which advert performs to a
higher level... which advert encourages more people to click
it than any other of your adverts.

DON'T UNDERESTIMATE WHAT THIS MEANS!

It's the key to optimising your Google AdWords
campaigns way beyond those of your competitors, so let's
take a slightly more technical look at the benefits.

As mentioned above, to implement split testing you do
nothing more than create more than one version of your text
adverts within each adgroup. Google then starts rotating
them.

Once you've had enough clicks, Google Adwords tells you
which of your multiple adverts is performing best.
Then you can scrap the lesser performing adverts, leaving
the best one there to work at a more effective level. And
also usually at the same time you can then lower your
Cost Per Click yet retain the same high position above your
competitors adverts.

I used this very technique recently to help a client in a
competitive retail industry achieve one of the highest
positions on Google AdWords (within their category) and yet
they are only paying Google's absolute minimum Cost Per
Click!

I know for a fact their competitors cannot touch that in
terms of cost of customer acquisition. Their first year of
business growth has been nothing short of phenomenal and I'm
very excited for them as they enter their second year of
trading.

If any of your Google Adwords adgroups only have a single
text advert in them, login immediately and create more
variations. Make the most of this powerful feature, then sit
back and watch your profits rise.
