Google AdWords Primer: How to Get Streams of Traffic to Your Site in 15 Mins Or Less.
Google AdWords can send an almost immediate stream of
"qualified", "targeted" and "ready to buy" visitors onto any
web site... yet so many business owners, entrepreneurs and
infopreneurs are not taking advantage of it.
If you don't already use Google Adwords, realise that you
can start benefiting from Google AdWords almost immediately
- it's very easy and inexpensive to create an account.
One word of warning though - if you set up the account
correctly, in the way I advise, then you've got to be
logistically ready to start acquiring large numbers of
sales!
I've seen large orders come through a private clients web
site - as a direct result of their Google AdWords
advertising - in as little as just 2 hours of their AdWords
account going live. So be prepared.
Ok so you know it can help you make a lot more money on the
Internet, but where do you start?
Well the first thing to do before actually creating your
Google AdWords account is to build up a list of the words
and phrases, called "keywords", that your prospective
customers or clients type into search engines when looking
for the type of products and services you offer.
Keyword research is an enormous topic, but to give you a few
tips:
1) Look at your competitors web sites. What words appear in
the title bar of their pages? What words frequently appear
in the page itself? And if you right click their webpage and
choose "View Source" and find a line of text that starts
with META KEYWORDS you get a peek behind the scenes at what
keywords they think are important. Very useful!
2) Check out www.WordTracker.com which is a fantastic online
resource that tells you exactly what people type when
looking for your category of products and services.
3) Google provide their own keyword research tool. You'll be
able to use that during the account setup process to further
expand your list of keywords. And I recommend you DO expand
the list. Make it as comprehensive as possible, because a
lot of your success with Google Adwords will hinge on your
keyword selections.
Once you have a comprehensive list of keywords... you're
still not quite ready to create your Google Adwords account!
What I advise next is to write at least 2 or 3 small text
adverts that will be displayed on Google. Do this
If you've performanced your keyword research and written
you're text adverts... NOW you're ready... go ahead and
create your Google Adwords account.
Go to http://adwords.google.com.
You'll see a big button onthe top right of that page which at the time of writing this article is labelled 'Start Now'.
Click it, and carefully follow the instructions. Enter your pre written adverts and paste in your keywords at the appropriate points, and within the next hour or so you'll have a brand new Google Adwords account and new traffic to your website!
One critical point about the help and tutorials they provide
- Google Adwords comes with all the detailed technical
advice you'll need to set up your new account - but the real
difference between the Adwords winners and losers is in the
finer aspects of the system.
Sometimes quite subtle tweaks in how your Google Adwords
online advertising account is configured can make all the
difference between glorious profit... and no profit! Search
on the web for the best training you can find. Find out how
to beat your competitors in the Google Adwords game and
watch what happens to your web sales success.
Be a fly-on-the-wall and watch an expert create a Google
AdWords account, tweak the settings, write powerful sales
copy and perform highly effective split-testing.
